Declaration of State of Emergency

City of Fairview Logo (JPG)

To assist in ensuring the continued health and welfare of our citizens and employees, as well as the economic health of our community, the City of Fairview declared a state of emergency in response to the COVID-19 Virus.   Declaration of a state of emergency will enable the City to access future State and/or Federal assistance and may also ensure that Fairview business have access to future assistance as well.

This emergency declaration suspends all non-essential meetings and events through the end of April.  The Wednesday, March 18 City Council meeting will be held; however, the meeting will be abbreviated and will not address all items on the initial agenda.  Please consult the City’s website for an updated agenda. Future City Council meetings and the method used to hold them will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Regretfully, the City’s annual Easter Egg Hunt has been canceled, as has all PlayEast! Programming through the end of April.

Currently, City Hall will remain open to the public.  We encourage citizens to take care of City business remotely, when possible.  Citizens may drop documents in the drop box located in the City Hall parking lot, call, email, or consult the City website.

The suspension of all water service disconnections and utility late payment fees will remain in place through May1, 2020.  At that time, conditions will be re-evaluated and the accommodation may be extended.

The City’s website will be updated with the latest information regarding City response to the COVID-19 Virus, as well as links to County, State and Federal health agencies.  The health and wellness of the community remains our priority.
