Fairview Urban Renewal Agency (URA) Launches New Programs

The Fairview City Council established the Fairview Urban Renewal Agency in May 2018 and adopted the Urban Renewal Plan in November 2018. The purpose of urban renewal is to improve specific areas of the city that are poorly developed or underdeveloped. The URA has created two programs to help achieve this goal.

Development Grant Program
Remove barriers that may discourage industrial, commercial, and residential mixed-use development in the urban renewal area and to encourage workforce and economic development. The purpose of the Program is to facilitate expansion and development of businesses and job growth in the City of Fairview to create a more vibrant economic landscape in the urban renewal area and to address potential environmental issues.

Utility System Development Charges (SDC) Program
Encourage development in the urban renewal area through payment of Fairview Utility System Development Charges (SDCs) with urban renewal revenue. Specifically, the Program goals are to increase live-work facilities, owner-occupied housing, and senior/elderly housing, and commercial and industrial businesses in the urban renewal area.
