Once again the Fairview Police Department is pleased to offer its FREE- “Self Defense for Teenage girls” class and “Self Defense for Women” class - for personal protection and conflict resolution. They are based on adrenal stress response, which is the “fight or flight” response that comes with an attack, whether it is only verbal or physical. These classes are reality based and very, “Hands on”. Each class is limited to only 20 participants. Priority will be given to Fairview residents and those working in Fairview. These classes have been very popular and fill quickly.
Classes will be held November 14, 2015 at Fairview City Hall, 1300 NE Village Street. The “Self Defense for Women” class is from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Participants must be 18 years or older. The “Self Defense for Teenage Girls” class is from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Participants must be 13 to 17 years old.
To register for either class contact the Fairview Police Department, Monday – Friday 8am-5pm @ 503-674-6200. You must register by November 10. All attendees are required to sign a waiver and release prior to attending the training.
